March 3rd 2009 more harassment of UMD volunteers

March 3rd 2009 UMD volunteers began setting up air monitors around the TVA ash disaster. We found one spot downwind that was perfect--and go permission from the local that lived there. Within minutes TVA and Roane County police came and detained our volunteers, questioned the person that lived on the land, questioned the owner of the land, read the lease agreement, questioned all of our volunteers and took their ID--snatched a camera out of one of our volunteers hands and ordered us to take down the air monitoring station. Why doesn't TVA want independent air monitors around the site?

Here's a question. They say it's going to take 8 years to get this completely cleaned out. Where is tva dumping the ash they have been hauling out in the big red dump trucks? At 5:30am January 13th, my mom was on her way to work. She witnessed approx 15 to 20 big red dump trucks one after the other going through Petros over the speed limit. Where were these trucks going at that time of the morning? My mother literally had to pull off to the side of the road and let them pass her because these drivers were driving in the middle of the road. Is Petros the designated dump site for this ash?

By the way, great video. I love the editing you did as well. It's sad how TVA is reacting to the beneficial things you do. All you were doing was putting up an air monitor so the residents would know what they were breathing in.

Man, that cop was mean and didn't make any sense!

It's sad you weren't able to set up a monitor. I hope you can do it eventually. Time is on your side on this one.
Is TVA doing any of their own air monitoring??? If yes, do they publish any results??? If yes, what are they and where?
