This picture really does tell the story. TVA's towers now spill into the water as well as the air. Its like they turned the towers into the river and pumped 40 years of waste into a water supply.

This is the confluence of the Clinch and Tennessee Rivers.
The mix-line is a mixture of ash and fine suspended clays where heavy metals are contained in solution. Mercury is often transported in this material.
This is an obvious violation of the Clean Water Act. Anything above 50 NTU is a violation.
